Description: Roll Your Own Poker is a variation of stud poker that introduces an additional layer of strategy by allowing players to choose which cards to reveal to their opponents. Objective
The objective of Roll Your Own Poker is to win the pot by having the best five-card poker hand or by making your opponents fold through strategic betting.
Game Setup
- Each player antes a small amount to form the initial pot.
- Each player is dealt three cards face down.
- Players then choose one of their three cards to reveal to their opponents.
Betting Rounds
First Betting Round
After each player reveals one card, a round of betting occurs. Betting starts with the player showing the highest card.
Second Card Deal and Betting Round
Each player is dealt a fourth card face down. Players choose one of their four cards to reveal (it can be a previously revealed card). A round of betting follows.
Third Card Deal and Betting Round
Each player is dealt a fifth card face down. Players choose one of their five cards to reveal (it can be a previously revealed card). A round of betting follows.
Final Card Deal and Betting Round
Each player is dealt a sixth card face down. Players choose one of their six cards to reveal (it can be a previously revealed card). A final round of betting occurs.
The Showdown
After the final betting round, remaining players reveal their hole cards. The player with the best five-card hand, using any combination of their revealed and hidden cards, wins the pot.
Hand Rankings
- Royal Flush: A, K, Q, J, 10, all of the same suit.
- Straight Flush: Five consecutive cards of the same suit.
- Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same rank.
- Full House: Three of a kind plus a pair.
- Flush: Five cards of the same suit, not in sequence.
- Straight: Five consecutive cards of any suit.
- Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank.
- Two Pair: Two different pairs.
- One Pair: Two cards of the same rank.
- High Card: The highest card in the hand if no other hand is made.
Special Rules for Roll Your Own Poker
