How to Play: Razzdugi
Description:
Razzdugi Poker is a mixed poker variant that combines the rules of Razz Poker and Badugi Poker. This game involves splitting the pot between the best Razz hand and the best Badugi hand. Razz is a lowball game where the lowest hand wins, while Badugi is a draw game where the best four-card hand with different suits and ranks wins.
Objective
The objective of Razzdugi Poker is to win the pot by having the best Razz hand and/or the best Badugi hand. The pot is split between the best Razz hand and the best Badugi hand at showdown.
Game Setup
- Each player antes a small amount to form the initial pot.
- Each player is dealt four hole cards face down.
- There are five rounds of betting with opportunities to draw and discard cards.
Betting and Drawing Rounds
First Round (Deal and Betting)
Each player is dealt four hole cards face down. A round of betting follows, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.
Second Round (First Draw and Betting)
Players can discard and draw up to four cards. A round of betting follows.
Third Round (Second Draw and Betting)
Players can discard and draw up to four cards. A round of betting follows.
Fourth Round (Third Draw and Betting)
Players can discard and draw up to four cards. A round of betting follows.
Fifth Round (Final Betting)
After the final draw, a last round of betting occurs.
The Showdown
After the final betting round, remaining players reveal their hole cards. The pot is split between the player with the best Razz hand (lowest five-card hand) and the player with the best Badugi hand (best four-card hand with different suits and ranks).

Razz Hand Rankings
- Best Hand: A, 2, 3, 4, 5 (also known as the wheel).
- Other low hands are ranked by the highest card, so A, 2, 3, 4, 6 beats A, 2, 3, 5, 6.
- Pairs, straights, and flushes count against you, so the best hand with no pairs or higher-ranked hands wins.
Badugi Hand Rankings
- Best Hand: A, 2, 3, 4 of different suits.
- Hands with fewer than four unique suits are ranked lower, with the best hand being the lowest unique card count.
- The highest card in a Badugi hand determines its rank, so a 7, 5, 4, 3 Badugi hand beats an 8, 5, 4, 3 Badugi hand.

- Focus on building strong low hands for both Razz and Badugi aspects of the game.
- Pay attention to your opponents’ drawing and betting patterns to gauge the strength of their hands.
- Manage your bankroll carefully, as split-pot games can lead to larger pots and more betting rounds.
