How to Play: Crazy Pineapple

Description:

Crazy Pineapple is a variation of Texas Hold’em poker with a twist. Here’s how to play:

Setup:

  1. Gather 2 to 8 players.
  2. Use a standard 52-card deck.
  3. Each player receives three hole cards instead of two.
  4. Deal three cards face-down to each player.
  5. Followed by a round of betting.

Flop:

  1. After the first betting round, the dealer places three community cards face-up on the table (the “flop”).
  2. Another round of betting follows. At this point all remaining players MUST discard one of their cards, leaving them with only 2 cards to play.

Turn:

  1. After the second betting round, the dealer adds a fourth community card (the “turn” or “fourth street”).
  2. Players bet again.

River:

  1. Finally, after the third betting round, the dealer places a fifth and final community card (the “river” or “fifth street”).
  2. Last round of betting.

Showdown:

Remaining players reveal their hole cards to determine the best five-card poker hand using exactly two of their hole cards and three of the community cards.

Winning:

The player with the highest-ranking hand wins the pot.

Crazy Pineapple Variants:

There are variations of Crazy Pineapple, such as Crazy Pineapple Hi-Lo 8 or Better, which follows the same rules but splits the pot between the best high hand and the best low hand (if eligible).
