Game Setup
The game uses a standard 52-card deck and can be played with 2 to 8 players. Each player starts with an equal number of chips. The dealer position rotates clockwise after each hand.
Dealing the Cards
Each player is dealt seven cards face down. Players review their cards and prepare for the first round of betting. The player to the left of the dealer starts the betting.
Shucking and Betting Rounds
The game includes several rounds of shucking (discarding and drawing new cards) and betting:
- First Betting Round: Players place their initial bets based on their initial seven-card hand.
- First Shuck: Each player can discard up to three cards and draw replacements from the deck.
- Second Betting Round: After receiving their new cards, players place another round of bets.
- Second Shuck: Players can again discard up to two cards and draw replacements from the deck.
- Final Betting Round: The last chance for players to bet before the showdown.
Showdown
After the final betting round, if two or more players remain, there is a showdown. Players reveal their hands, and the best five-card hand wins the pot. Standard poker hand rankings are used to determine the winner.
Hand Rankings
The hand rankings in 7 Card Shuck Poker are the same as in traditional poker:
- Royal Flush: A, K, Q, J, 10, all of the same suit.
- Straight Flush: Five consecutive cards of the same suit.
- Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same rank.
- Full House: Three of a kind plus a pair.
- Flush: Five cards of the same suit.
- Straight: Five consecutive cards of different suits.
- Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank.
- Two Pair: Two pairs of different ranks.
- One Pair: One pair of the same rank.
- High Card: The highest card if no other hand is made.

7 Card Shuck Poker requires strategic thinking and a good understanding of probabilities:
