How to Play: 7-7 Low-Low
Description:
7 Low, 7 Badugi is a combination of two poker variants: Triple draw (7 or Better Low) and Best Badugi (7 or Better Badugi). Players aim to win the pot by having the lowest qualifying hand in the 7 Low and the best Badugi hand in the 7 Badugi rounds. MUST be a 7 or lower 5 card low and also MUST be a 4 card badugi with all cards being under 7 to qualify!
Gameplay
- 7 Low Hand:
- The goal is to make the lowest possible five-card hand with cards 7 or lower.
- The pot may be split between the best badugi and the best qualifying low hand if certain conditions are met.
- 7 Badugi Hand:
- Players are dealt 5 cards, aiming to make the best Badugi hand.
- A Badugi hand consists of four cards of different suits and ranks.
- If no player has a 4 card Badugi then the pot goes to the winner with the best qualifying low. If there are no qualifiers for either game then the remaining players in the pot split.
- If multiple players have the same Badugi, the pot is split between them.
Strategy
Players must adjust their strategy based on whether they are playing for the lowest hand or the best Badugi hand in each round. This requires careful consideration of starting hands and drawing decisions.
Conclusion
7 best Low, best Badugi is a unique and challenging poker variant that combines elements of lowball poker and Badugi, testing players’ skills in both disciplines.
